Lula Self-Warming Eye Masks — 10 Pack, Assorted Scents
✔ Stock on hand — ships NZ-wide from Rose Optometry, Hamilton.
Ten masks, all five scents
Two each of Lavender, Jasmine, Rose, Vanilla and Unscented. Air-activated, so the warming starts the moment you open the pouch — no microwave, no cable, around twenty minutes of gentle warmth, then bin it.
The 10-pack is better value per mask than a single 5-pack, it lets you find out which scent you actually like before committing, and because our shipping is a flat rate per parcel regardless of weight, the bigger box costs you nothing extra to receive.
The caveat is the same as on the 5-pack, and we would rather you read it first. Lula is a comfort mask, not a therapeutic warm compress. Warm compression treats meibomian gland dysfunction because the oil in a blocked gland only softens above a certain temperature, and a 2024 evidence review in Ophthalmology and Therapy puts that target at an eyelid temperature of at least 40°C held for at least 10 minutes, once daily. Normal meibum melts across roughly 19–45°C, and in MGD the thickened meibum sits at the top of that range, often above body temperature (37°C) — which is why body heat alone never clears a blocked gland. For scale, the same review found a hot towel or facecloth holds the eyelid above 40°C for only the first minute and drops below target within two minutes, so it would need reheating every two minutes to be any use at all. A mask built to feel pleasant for twenty minutes is built for comfort, not for softening meibum. If you have diagnosed MGD or evaporative dry eye, buy the iFlo USB mask or the reusable Opti-Soothe instead. Buy Lula for comfort, and those for treatment. A lot of our patients quite sensibly own both.

Questions we get asked
What exactly is in the box?
Ten individually pouched masks — two each of Lavender, Jasmine, Rose, Vanilla and Unscented. If you want a single scent rather than the assortment, the 5-pack is sold by scent.
How long does each mask stay warm?
About twenty minutes, according to Lula, and then it is finished. That is comfortable warmth rather than the sustained heat gland treatment needs — at least 10 minutes at an eyelid temperature of 40°C or above, once daily, per a 2024 evidence review in Ophthalmology and Therapy.
Can I reheat them?
No. Each mask is air-activated and single use. Once the pouch is open it is spent — do not microwave one, and bin it after use.
Why buy ten instead of five?
Better value per mask, and you get to work out which scent you like. Our shipping is a flat rate per parcel regardless of weight, so the larger box does not cost you more to receive.
How should I store them?
Sealed in their pouches, somewhere cool and dry — they begin warming as soon as air reaches them, so an open or damaged pouch is a wasted mask. Check the pouch for a use-by date, and keep them out of reach of children.
Will ten of them treat my MGD?
Probably not, and we would rather tell you that than sell you ten. Read the caveat above, then read our dry eye guide or come and let us look at your lids in Hamilton.
