These come with a clear demo lens and are made to be glazed to your prescription. Choose your frame colour above; we make them up in single vision, progressive, sun tint, blue-light filter or Transitions after measuring you in practice.
Prescription range
The Aviator front carries a narrower supported prescription range than the acetate shapes: -6.00 to +4.00 total power. Our optometrists check your script against it before you commit and will tell you plainly if it can't be made up. Prisms and some specialty designs are generally not available.
What's included, and what costs extra
The price shown covers the frame as supplied, with its clear demo lens. Prescription lenses, and non-prescription treatments such as photochromic (light-reactive) lenses, tints, polarisation, mirror finishes and blue-light filters, are quoted separately and may carry an additional cost. We'll price your exact frame and lens combination before you commit.
Why buy them from an optometrist
These aren't an ordinary pair of glasses, and they shouldn't be posted out like a phone case. The electronics sit in the temples, the weight sits differently on your face, and the optical centres still have to line up with your pupils — which matters more on a front-heavy frame.

Can I get Ray-Ban Meta Aviator with prescription lenses in New Zealand?
Yes. The Gen 3 Aviator accepts prescription lenses from -6.00 to +4.00 total power (single vision, progressive, Transitions or tinted). Our optometrists check your script against that range before you commit, and refund your deposit if it can't be made up.
What's the difference between Aviator Optical and the Aviator sunglasses?
The Optical version ships with a clear demo lens and is designed to be glazed to your prescription; the sunglasses version comes with a finished sun or Transitions lens. Same frame, camera, speakers and Meta AI in both.
What's the difference between Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and Gen 3?
Gen 3 has a 36% smaller camera and capture light, a 6-mic array instead of 5, up to 9 hours of battery (Gen 2: up to 8), slimmer temples, adjustable temple tips and an assignable action button. Camera resolution (12 MP ultra-wide) and 3K video are the same. Gen 3 also adds the Aviator and Zena shapes.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 9 hours of mixed use on a single charge, with up to 50 additional hours from the charging case. Heavy video or Live AI use drains it faster.
Can they record without people knowing?
No. A capture light on the frame turns on whenever the camera is recording, and the glasses will not take photos or video if that light is covered, tampered with or damaged.
Are Ray-Ban Meta glasses waterproof?
They are IPX4 water resistant, which means splash and sweat resistant. They are not for swimming or heavy rain.
Which phones work with Ray-Ban Meta?
iOS 17 and later, or Android 10 and later, with the Meta AI app installed. They connect over Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.
Do I have to buy in person, or can you ship them?
Both. We ship nationwide by tracked, insured courier with signature on delivery. We recommend a fitting at 38 Lake Road, Frankton, so we can adjust the frame, set up the app and check your prescription.
Is there an age limit?
We sell camera glasses to adults 18 and over only, and every pair's serial number is recorded against the buyer under our terms and conditions.

Yes. Rose Optometry is an approved authorised stockist of Ray-Ban Meta in New Zealand, with genuine NZ stock and local warranty support.
